Link Achi/Gear score

How many people have gotten to 80 going yes finally I can do some sweet raids only to be stonewalled by Gear score and Achievements?

Egamad is my first 80, even though I may have read through all strategies understand each fight and very capable at my class/role I still need to jump through hoops. Now I'm not saying it's outright bad as sometimes GS is a good guide to what you can do, and Achievements mean you know what your doing......or at least should know.

Using crafting to make money on the AH

www.wow.com/.../using-...to-make-gold-on-the-auction-house

I am in the process of writing up a gold making via crafting article, of which a large part was going to be using auctioneer and lil-sparky to determine how to use your crafting skill to make gold.  However, if someone has already written it, even better. The article above is about using these two addons to make gold using blacksmithing, with some specific advice for blacksmiths (feel free to ignore if not applicable).  However, the principle is the same for all crafting professions - including cooking:

  1. Scan the auction house.
  2. Use Lil-Sparky to see what sells for more than it costs.
  3. Get the mats.
  4. Craft a few and trickle feed your items onto the AH.
  5. If something sells - make more somethings.  If it sells alot - make alot.
If you find that a raw material sells for a lot, and farming it would give you enough gold/hour, then by all means farm as your gold making method.
Farming is not free.  If you ever feel that farming time is free, I have a large list I would like you to farm for me - it shouldn't take you more that 24 hours a day.

Edit: blessed blog. I had "<" crafting ">"  in the heading, and it showed up fine in the preview, got droped in the posted topic.  Ah well.

3.3.3 PTR LFG changes

www.wow.com/.../patch-3-3-3-ptr-random-dungeon-finder-changes ...
  • The Deserter debuff given to players who leave a dungeon prematurely when queuing via the Random Dungeon option has been increased to 30 minutes, up from 15 minutes. The cooldown for using the Random Dungeon option remains 15 minutes.
  • ...
  • Anyone in a dungeon party can now re-queue their group for a dungeon, as players will still be prompted whether or not to accept their chosen role.
  • Players who use the Vote Kick option will now be prompted to provide a reason for kicking a party member. This reason will be presented to everyone in the party except for the person voted to be kicked.
  • When joining as a group, more generous level requirements will be used instead of Random Dungeon level requirements so that players of different levels joining together will be eligible for a greater number of dungeons.
  • World Event bosses (such as Ahune for the Fire Festival) will now be accessible through the Dungeon Finder. Players must use the Dungeon Finder to access these bosses.
  • ...
There are some other tidy up changes, that will make things cleaner - but otherwise have no effect.  However, I see that this has some minor implications - with the biggy at the end:

Doing stuff in order - crazy talk?

I am a mild altaholic - three 80's (DK tank, Priest heals, Warlock), one levelling toon (Shammy heals), and a slew of bank alts.

I want to run things in order, without desperatly overgearing instances.  All of my 80's have completed all the heroics in their respective roles - including occulus.  I have completed Sarth (no drakes), and can finally avoid flame walls.  I've completed Nax as heal and tank.  I was carried through the Heigan dance, so I go back every so often for practice.  Last time it was just a healer and myself on a partially cleared run, where I stayed up for 15 minutes last time - so I think I nearly have it.

Basic moneymaking.

This post is for those players who believe they do not have the time/energy to make a lot of money, but would still like a quick way to make 100g.

Start of whats to come.

Back after a brief but rather lengthy break.

Having finally grinded to 80 and picked up 4/5 pieces of triumph tier gear for healing I'm well on my way to end-end game raiding. So back to blogging, I hope, eventually.

Anyway not much I wanted to mention in this post just that I have not left, rather I have sat back far enough to find the gaps to fill. Foo, is doing a wonderful job on the economics of WOW, thats not exactly something I can really do, not that my money skills are bad, I just cant look that far into the economics of WOW without getting consumed.

As it stands now I'm a bit of an alt freak, I constantly see a druid change forms and own someone and want to level one, or find some sweet 2 handed axes and want to be a titans grip warrior. This is why I have an 80 shaman 73 mage and a 70 rogue, because I want to play different styles at different times. I started a fraction of time maybe a month before WotLk, well re-started and before that didn't grind to far into TBC.

Now that my Fiance' is playing too, there is less stopping me from spending ridiculous time on this game, and having the RAF ( recruit a friend) bonus to help her start a new toon was more incentive for her.

So now im 80 and finally contributing more to the guild, farming for the bank, leveling proffs and all that other fun stuff that needs to be done. I still level up other toons, including my PVP addicted rogue, and a mage that is now a bank alt at lvl73. But have started to focus more on making money helping the guild and achievement farming.

Also I was the only healer on the weekly in Naxx to kill Noth didn't notice till I switched recount from DPS to Healing Done and found myself way ahead. Also I have a progression ICC to continue, so Im building up the experience I need to get it done. Now I just have to remember to pass that experience on to you.... my readers..... all 1 of you.....

Stay tuned for more as I whine about the pst GS and ACHI spams in trade, and anything else I have a problem with for new level 80 toons.

Gogogo, or please - just go.

I have multiple toons, including a Tank, a Healer, and a DPS.  I also run with newer toons, whether it is their first 80, their first heals/tank, or even currently levelling up.

Tanks like to run things quick.  If the group is moving smoothly, I will pull more.  Most tanking classes have more 'resources' (rage, runic power) at the end of a fight than they do at the start.  'Nice' tanks may slow down if they see a healer /oom, and some might even slow down if a DPS is oom.  Tanks know that they can get a group anytime.  A wipe will cost us more time, repair bills, and general grief than taking things a little more slowly.

Gathering gold

Earlier I talked about levelling crafting on the cheap.  In that post I talked about the following players:
  • Would like to learn a profession.  Spends a fortune on stuff in the AH. Doesn't finish in twenty minutes and gets bored. Gives up.
  • Knows that some professions go together - like herbalism and alchemy.  Tries to keep up, but cant be bothered.  Finds that they get to level 40, and can't gather anymore.   Gives up.
  • Can't get into their raiding guild without a profession.  Takes 6000+ to AH.  Cant find all the mats in the AH. Spams trade and pays 3 times going price.  Uses a profession levelling guide. Sells everything at a vendor.  Runs out of money.  Begs for gold.  Might even get profession, but will never make money from it.
Below, I have some tips for assisting them in their crafting journey, for a price.
